Its really good to know a little something about something. Its even better to know someone that knows more than you. I got this email from a wonderful lady this morning. She passed it on to everyone that she thought would either share this news or utilize the program itself. Please let any Texans who might be interested know that somebody cares!
Hi there;
In an effort to help reduce our heating & cooling expenses, the Texas Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has commissioned Oncor, which heads all major electric companies to do free home energy efficiency checks and repairs in homes built prior to 2002.
Oncor will arrange to have a contractor repair any leaks, vent, ac mechanical parts, weather stripping, or add more insulation to your home if needed. They will also check your shower heads to ensure you have no excessive water loss. I promise you - this is all FREE!!! You need to act soon before our state funds are depleted. If your home was built prior to 2002 and you would like to take advantage of this offer, you can contact the following representative to see if you qualify and to arrange your energy assessment:
Laurie - 1-972-439-4708
If you meet a certain income criterion, you will be given energy-saving ENERGY STAR® qualified CFLs (compact fluorescent light bulbs). The program outlines the benefits of CFL use while also offering reduced prices at participating retail locations.
It is not necessary to have Oncor as your service provider. I have TXU and Oncor still honored my request.
