I heard through the blog (Dian @ Grocery Shop For Free) grapevine that Toys R Us is going all out for our little goblins this year.


According to their press release, children ages 3 and up can:

• • Dress up in their favorite ghoulish garb and receive a complimentary, reusable and reflective Trick”R”Treat bag, filled with safety tips and accessories, while supplies last;
  • Join Geoffrey the Giraffe as he leads a costume parade around the store every hour on the hour, from 1 – 5pm, picking up treats along the way, while supplies last;

  • Take home “Geoffrey’s Safety Pledge,” a checklist with key tips for parents to review with their children before trick-or-treating, created by Toys”R”Us and Safe Kids Worldwide.

I have a shopping riddle for you guys this morning. What will 20% plus taxes along with a $10 fee get you at Toys R Us?

You guys really appreciated finding out about the wonderful trade in program with Toys R Us when it was baby furniture and accessories. I want to tell you guys about something else and this is a doozy with Christmas coming just around the corner.

Toys R Us is going to launch its nationwide video game trade in program! Insiders say that Toys R Us will sell all of the used games to Gamer's Factory. Like all programs, there are rules. With video games the rules are going to be very strict.

• All games must be in their original cases and must include the manual.
• Customers receive a gift card that can be used at Toys R Us, Babies R Us and ToysRus.com!
• Games from older or "classic" systems can be traded as well but will only yield around $.25-$.50 per game.
• Customers can only trade in 3 games of the same title.
• All trade-ins will be done at the Guest Services desk.
• There is a cap of $1000 a day for trade-ins.
• Games cannot be cracked or damaged. Slight scratches are okay.
• Gift cards can be used to purchase anything from the above mentioned locations.

Being a huge fan of coupons, I just have to tell you about this wonderful wonderful deal. Toys 'R' Us is offering coupons for traded in items. No I am NOT getting this confused with Cash for Clunkers. Its over people, let it go!

This is the opportunity to get 20% off 16 manufacturers' products. Some participating manufacturers are Baby Cache, Eddie Bauer, Evenflo and Graco. Obviously there are more but this will give you an idea of what they want.

This program will begin on Friday. August 28th and will continue through September 20th. The program may be extended if its highly successful.

Important facts:

• Coupons can only be used for those particular categories (Graco for Graco, etc.).
• There is no limit to how many items you can trade in.
• There is also no limit on how old the items can be when you trade them.
