Walgreens Sept. 27th-Oct. 3rd

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , , ,

I am just so ecstatic right now I can hardly wait. I have a sale for my die hard coupon buddies and for my new couponers as well.

Yes, its Walgreens! Walgreens does not seem like a place where you will shop till you drop but in all honesty, this is the week to try. If you have a few extra dollars in your pocket, I highly suggest investing them in this upcoming sale. The reason I call this an investment is because you WILL get a return on your purchases. This sale is truly amazing.

Enough of my excitement, let's talk details. First, I go to visit Erica's website, I Heart Wags, and get an early copy of the ad. Then I match up my coupons with the things offered in the ad. Don't worry if you do not have coupons because this sale is good for EVERYONE. I am going to give you a list of a few items that will definitely yield a return.

Guaranteed Money Back on Purchase
Simply purchase the item listed and pay the amount on the right. You will receive the same amount back in Register Rewards (RR). If you are lucky enough to have a coupon, you will make a profit. How nice would it be to get paid to shop at Walgreens? You can use those Register Rewards (RR) on other purchases in the store. With the cold and flu season approaching and all of the great deals in the future, I am sure you will find something to shop for with those Register Rewards (RR).

Robitussin DM To Go $2.49
- $2.49 RR

These are just items that can be purchased with guaranteed return. There are even more deals that yield RR and can even be free with the right coupons. I would love to hear more about whether or not you will be shopping, and if so, what will you buy. Let's have a weekly discussion on shopping trips. You pick the store and I will try and find the deals!

Christmas Deals in the Making

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , , , , , , ,

Here lately, every time I decide to make a post something new inspires me. Christmas shoppers may want to get their pens and pencils ready.

Let's dive right in shall we. First deal that caught my eye was a travel game. This is great for stocking stuffers, gifts, donating, or just to sit and play during down time. Target has travel size Hungry Hippos games for $4.99. There is a $4.00 off internet printable coupon and that price transforms to $0.99. Click here!

The next awesome deal I ran across was the $10 off $10 purchase at Sears. There shipping is not cheap so I would not advise ordering online without a free shipping code.
For a free shipping code, I suggest trying Retail Me Not.

Another great deal for someone who needs or wants to purchase something for a child is the LeapFrog Fridge Talk Magnetic Wordplay Recorder. It is priced at $20.00 but if you check the price you will see its a whopping $5.00. There is a $4.00 off Leapfrog Fridge Toy coupon available online. Yes, you guessed it. It only costs $1.00 when you are all done. Click here!

Now its time that we get to some of my absolute favorite deals. Its hard to call these favorites when the other two were so awesome. Amazon is selling fleece hoodies for larger gentlemen or ladies if you don't mind wearing a nice cozy fleece hoodie. The price is amazing for the size. The sizes range from 3-5X! Talk about cozy. Click here to get your hoodie for only $6.99!!!

Another great deal is one that Erica from I heart Wags. This lady is amazing. I do not know how she finds all this information but she must have halo to match each outfit. Erica has provided her blog fans with a preview of a portion of the Walgreens Black Friday Ad. This information is golden to a serious coupon addict such as myself. I will know to hold on to certain coupons based upon what she has provided. She did this earlier in the week but I think this is a great time to add them to the list of deals.
Here goes:
Dove Smooth Deodorant $3.99 get $3.99 RR
Johnson’s Melt Away Body Wash $4.99 get $4.99 RR
Nivea Men’s Shave Gel $2.49 get $2.49 RR
Right Guard Solid $2.49 get $2.49 RR

Now for the best deal of the day. This deal actually needs no serious introduction. Its a website. I did not realize until I watched the news tonight, but there is an amazing site with deals on everything from dry goods to 60 inch LCD televisions for pennies on the dollar. The worst part is the website's warehouse is local and I can pick up whatever I purchase. Its an amazing site. A gentleman on my local news purchased a 60' LCD television for $400. Now how would you like to see that under the Christmas tree. Go and check it out here!

****This just added, thanks to Kim@ The Work at Home Mafia just gave me an awesome lead on an awesome deal! $10 off any $10 purchase today at JCPenney. You have to use the code ENJOY10. Shipping starts at $4.50 but they do have some great clearance deals!

Working at Home and the Walgreens Journey

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , ,

This fun and frugal tip is about freebies at Walgreens. First I want to just debunk the theories about working at home. You know all of those naysayers that say they cannot work at home for fear of going bananas. They cannot work at home because they are socially dependent upon the presence of others. You know, all those folks who say if you don't work at home then you miss out on everything. Yeah those folks!

Well my day was long and hectic and is not even close to being over. I started the day by taking the kiddos to the doctor and then a rousing trip to the pharmacy. Of course that's an all day job with 4 kids and even more prescriptions.

While I was in the pharmacy, I thought I would grab a few free items that I noticed in the ad. Walgreens is having a wing dinger of a deal this week. There are several free items available and I figured I would take advantage while I waited. I got in line and noticed the couple in front of me using a 15% off coupon. I leaned in to listen as to how they got that wonderful coupon and realized it was a family and friend coupon. Well I can get those online! I was upset. I was sitting there thinking about how if I were at home I could find more deals and save more money.

I proceeded to check out the few little items I had while reminiscing about my computer. If I were at home, I could search which stores still had my favorite items in stock! I could get the Rembrandt toothpaste for $5 and receive a $5 Register Reward making that item free! I could have also gotten the Men's Zone razor for $4 and got the $4 RR. I continued to pout as I waited in line to make my purchase.

I bought Carefree liners ($2) and a few Colgate 360 Actiflex ($3) toothbrushes. I was happy because although I was spending $5, I would receive $5 in Register Rewards. It was like I spent nothing at all. I found a lot of joy in this until I stepped out of line and look back to make sure I had my keys and noticed a gentleman sitting a box of Breathe Right Nose Strips on the counter. They were on sale for $4.99 and you get a $4 Register Reward. AAaaaaaarrrggh! Yes, if I were at home I could have looked that up.

The moral of that story is that 1) Working at home keeps you more up to date and in the know than doing anything outside the home 2) Working at home teaches you organization 3) Working at home helps you budget (you can organize your coupons, save on commuting fees, and avoid being overcharged by price comparison shopping.

Now enjoy these deals!

Secret Deodorant $1.99 with in-ad coupon
- $2 from $62 in Savings Kmart Coupon Booklet
Free

Theraflu Cold, Cough, or Sinus Relief $4.99
- $3 RR
- $2 in Healthy Savings Coupon book
Price: $1.99 without coupon

Rembrandt Toothpaste $5
- $5 RR
Free

Men's Zone 6 Blade Razor System $3.99
- $3.99 RR
Free

Colgate 360 ActiFlex Toothbrush $2.99
- .40 (S 8/30)
- $2.99 RR
Free (woo hoo you made .40 profit)

Carefree Ultra Protection Pantiliners 16 ct $1.99
- $1 (S 8/30)
- $1.99 RR
Free (You are up $1)

There are even more deals found in your local Walgreens ad! Good Luck! I am going back tomorrow. I am still battling prescriptions!

I did, however, get my Twitter on and the leads have been posted!

Toys R Us or Cash for Clunkers?

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , , , , , , , ,

Being a huge fan of coupons, I just have to tell you about this wonderful wonderful deal. Toys 'R' Us is offering coupons for traded in items. No I am NOT getting this confused with Cash for Clunkers. Its over people, let it go!

This is the opportunity to get 20% off 16 manufacturers' products. Some participating manufacturers are Baby Cache, Eddie Bauer, Evenflo and Graco. Obviously there are more but this will give you an idea of what they want.

This program will begin on Friday. August 28th and will continue through September 20th. The program may be extended if its highly successful.

Important facts:

  • Coupons can only be used for those particular categories (Graco for Graco, etc.).
  • There is no limit to how many items you can trade in.
  • There is also no limit on how old the items can be when you trade them.
Although this program will rid homes of many recalled products, its also aimed at stimulating the economy. More and more people are purchasing these items at consignment stores and yard sales, therefore, stores like Toys 'R' Us and Babies 'R' Us are just not getting the sales they need. If they get these items out of the yard sales and consignment stores, they feel it will boost in-store sales.

Paging Alice!

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , , , ,

Do you guys remember the Brady Bunch? Who didn't want their own Alice? I grew up on reruns of the show and I wished Alice was there to do some of my chores. Now we can all have our own Alice. You have to be thinking, "In this economy? Girl you done lost yo mind?" Or something quite similar. I am going to show you how to get your own Alice.

Alice will not cook or clean and like Florence Johnston, she don't do windows. Alice does however, assist in managing your household items as well as helps you find bargains. Alice sends you alerts, informing you that you may need to purchase certain items in your home. Alice even gives you the opportunity to purchase these items online and have them shipped to your home.

Signing up for the service is easy. Alice is in its Beta stages. When signing up, Alice asks the sex and ages of the people living in your home. This allows Alice to personalize certain items to put into a list for you. If you do not purchase some of these items, feel free to remove them. You can also add your favorite brands to your list. Alice partners with many major brands, therefore you can purchase these items quite easily.

Alice will monitor how often you purchase the items on your list and notify you when its about time for you to make another purchase. If you run out sooner or later, you can adjust Alice to your pattern of use. Alice also applies coupons to your purchases when a coupon is available. Alice also keeps a budget for you so that you can monitor how much you spend on those items.

The makers of Alice are also working on adding a feature that allows people to network with other Alice users. Alice will also have a feature that will allow people to automatically ship items when Alice feels they are running low. Don't worry, shipping is always free with Alice!

Target Price Match Guarantee

Posted by: TRochelle in , , ,

What's more fun than making stores battle for your business? Walmart learned the money making possibilities with price comparison and now Target has joined the ride.

Target now offers a Low Price Promise to customers. It states that "Target stores nationwide will match advertised prices from competitors on identical items in local markets".
Some areas have enjoyed the Low Price Promise since March of this year. If your area was not included, you will enjoy this perks of this option from here on out.

If its still a bit confusing, I will explain further. If you find a product or item at another store and its being offered at a price less than the price at Target, Target will match that price dollar for dollar. The only requirements are that the products match exactly. You must make sure the model number matches the product you are looking at in the competition's ad or store.

There is a long list of exemptions for the Low Price Promise. A few situations that are not valid for the Low Price Promise are:

  • Target.com or online retail promotion
  • Competitor’s Free Product
  • GiftCards
  • Limited quantity items
  • Open box or damaged
  • Clearance or closeout
  • Mail-in offers
  • Services (warranties, assembly, etc.)
  • Bundle offers
  • Special order
  • Sales-tax promotions
  • Liquidation/going out of business
  • Special financing
  • Coupons
  • Used or previously owned
  • Display merchandise
  • Pricing or typographical errors
  • Club or loyalty

Coupon Giveaway Begins

I woke up this morning to a cool A/C, a loud television, and the ability to make breakfast. If you do not know about the recent developments in Texas, there was a nice flood. This equates to NO electricity. I think we handled it well. We loaded the cooler with drinks and closed up the fridge and all the freezers. It did get me to thinking, I am really blessed.

Its time to pass some blessings on to someone else. If you are a coupon collector, there are quite a few perks in the works for you. T.Rochelle and the Schmooze will be giving away coupon packs. This is nothing like the WELCOME packet. These packets will include 20 or more of one type of coupon. Off to See the Inserts, The Wonderful Inserts of Couponing!

Posted by: TRochelle in , , ,

I have been sitting here trying to recoup from a wonderful road trip. I did not do a LOT of shopping but I did see a lot of strange stuff and I got to chat with a lot of wonderful people. I was able to take advantage of the Gillette deal at CVS. I went in with $4 worth of Register Rewards and my trusty coupon for $4 off. I got a Gillette powered razor w/battery for FREE! After I semi-paid and got my receipt, I noticed that I had a $4 ECB on the lower portion of my receipt. Yes I DID go back into the store and purchase another one with a fresh coupon and my ECB. I was quite happy. This was enough for me today. I am saving my strength for next week!

Oh the road trip, it was an adventure to go and get more and more coupon inserts. You can never have too many inserts. I could not wait until I got my hands on them. Tune in tomorrow, when I am not exhausted and I will show you how well I did.

Before I go, I want to alert you of a few things going on in the Coupon World:
Tomorrow, there will be an email circulating from Walgreens giving you $5 off a $25 purchase. Make sure you do NOT delete!

Another tip going around thanks to the wonderful people at Couponing 101, is in regards to the Old Navy Weekly website and how to win the coupons:

Coupon Hints:

$75/$100 (gone) - Put the flaming marshmallow on the fishing hook. When you see the fish appear in the water, click the fishing pole to catch it. Then click on the fish.

$50/$100 (gone) - Watch for the fish to appear in the water then click the hook on the fishing pole to catch it. (If you already put the marshmallow on it, you will need to refresh the page to get rid of it.) Then click on the fish.

$20/$100 - Scratch (click mouse button, hold it down, and move it up and down fast) the s’mores picture on the t-shirt of the girl holding the marshmallow on a stick.

$15/$75 - Somewhere in the video! Just click all over it until the coupon pops up!

$5/$50 - Click on the pink flashlight in the hand of the little girl in the pink hoodie.

Good Luck to all!

Fun On A Saturday Night

Posted by: TRochelle in , , ,

Its Saturday night and my girls and I have gotten a tradition started. We sit around the computer and gaze at I Heart Wags. We look through the ad that comes out tomorrow and we start planning our shopping trip. We match the items in the ad with our wants, needs, and more importantly COUPONS! I have two girls so our eyes are all working together. Then we bring in the reinforcements, my oldest son. He is the deal spotter. He is only seven but he never misses a deal.

Finally, its time. First we get all dressed to leave the house. Nothing fancy, lucky if we get out of our pj(s)! Then we sit outside our favorite Walgreens and wait for them to toss the old Walgreens ads into the trash. This signifies the rollover to the next day. That signifies us getting in on a deal for a change lol! We go in and look around the entire store in hopes we find a clearance item or two. Deals For My Day and More Work at Home Leads

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , , , ,

Today was a good day. I was a bit bummed so I decided to beat the slow mailman and go and get my OWN grocery ads. Its a good thing since he NEVER left my ads. I really am sick of not getting my ads.

While I was out, I decided to get a few things for free that I knew I could get off the top of my head. I was at Albertsons so I decided to get the Fisher snacks, some Dial Basics, Suave deodorants, and a couple of bottles of Soft Soap. I had some expired coupons for Soft Soap and the lady was kind enough to take them even though my daughter grabbed them thinking the coupons were good. She was very kind about it. She asked if I had coupons for the SoftSoap and I told her no I had some expired ones my daughter grabbed by mistake. She took the coupons anyway and told me to enjoy my day of freebies!

Of course, this meant I had to return to the store with 5 Fisher Snacks coupons! I bought 5 more Fisher snacks (the cashier's favorite) and once she bagged them and told me how I was not going to leave any for her, I tied the bag and wrote "Thank You Amber" and told the manager to hold the bag for her with the receipt inside. She was very surprised. She was also very interested in why I had so many coupons! I guess she will have to find out the blog way lol!

Oh and before I forget, I found those Glade Sense and Sprays at Walmart (the Market) and paid $1 for each!! Total out of pocket for the day $7. 56!!

*****Work at home leads are now posted in the Schmooze as well as details on how to get some free stuff for yourself! *****

Win a Welcome Pack

Posted by: TRochelle in , , ,

I was sitting around thinking about yesterday's post and it inspired me to do more. Today is the day that I typically get ready to start listing my coupon match ups for Schmooze. A coupon match up is just a list of what is on sale in the ad and what coupons will maximize your savings. I do this every Wednesday since that is when I get my ads. Anyway, it got me to thinking how nice it is to get coupons from friends. I joined one site and a nice lady sent me some coupons and now I am the monster you see before you today. This was a random act of kindness that I will never forget.

I figured I will pay it forward and do the same thing. For an entire week, Wednesday to Wednesday, I will be sending out Welcome Packs (coupons) to random new members. This will help you get started and show how much we appreciate you not paying full price. Our first and newest member of the Schmooze is Breeronny. Her pack will go out today.

If you want to get a welcome pack, register at the Schmooze and you MAY be one of our random new guests to win a welcome pack. Good Luck and look for your name in tomorrow's blog!

Predicting a Clearance at Walgreens

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , , , , , ,

How to predict clearance is a funny name for a tip but this portion of the forum is fun so it fits! I still claim novice status but I am learning so much nowadays.

A tip that literally, just dawned on me is how to predict a clearance. I was sitting and pouting because I missed out on 4 packs of toilet paper for $.25. I decided that I wanted to get a head start on the upcoming sale and it hit me. . . I am going to save what hit me but its going to be great.

Right now, at Walgreens they have Tuff trash bags, Lipton tea, Duracel batteries, cordless phones, Soft Scrub, Scrubbing Bubbles, Lysol products, Glade, airbeds, on clearance, Caress, Dove, sunblock, Ivory soap, Centrum, Move Free, Benadryl, Sudafed, Tylenol Sinus and Allergy, Aleve, and Excedrin all on clearance.

When I looked at next week's ad, I noticed that these items were all on sale next week. Well no wonder its on clearance. They will have to move this stuff out of the way fast. Of course you want new fresh inventory to sell to your customers. This made me really look deeper. I checked the ad for the week after and saw a few things that are on clearance now.

That's when the never ending light bulb moment continued. I should watch the items in the upcoming ad when searching for clearance items. Now there is no way to know when they will do it unless you ask and an employee is nice enough to tell you, but I have yet to have that happen. I am going to try though. I plan on hitting the stores first thing in the morning. I just know there are a few things I overlooked.

If you have access to future store ads then you have more than insight on sales. You have the key to the clearance mystery. Use those ads as a guide to tell you what items to watch for when shopping for clearance items.

I am going to give you your first step into the right direction. If you want to participate in a Walgreens or CVS clearance bonanza, watch sites like these closely:

****Future ads are listed in the column on the right and they are listed in order by date. Visit your local Walgreens and look for the ORANGE tags. Then return home and look for those items in the ad. Its truly an eye opening experience.

Next time use the ad to get your coupons ready!
