Toys R Us or Cash for Clunkers?

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , , , , , , , ,

Being a huge fan of coupons, I just have to tell you about this wonderful wonderful deal. Toys 'R' Us is offering coupons for traded in items. No I am NOT getting this confused with Cash for Clunkers. Its over people, let it go!

This is the opportunity to get 20% off 16 manufacturers' products. Some participating manufacturers are Baby Cache, Eddie Bauer, Evenflo and Graco. Obviously there are more but this will give you an idea of what they want.

This program will begin on Friday. August 28th and will continue through September 20th. The program may be extended if its highly successful.

Important facts:

  • Coupons can only be used for those particular categories (Graco for Graco, etc.).
  • There is no limit to how many items you can trade in.
  • There is also no limit on how old the items can be when you trade them.
Although this program will rid homes of many recalled products, its also aimed at stimulating the economy. More and more people are purchasing these items at consignment stores and yard sales, therefore, stores like Toys 'R' Us and Babies 'R' Us are just not getting the sales they need. If they get these items out of the yard sales and consignment stores, they feel it will boost in-store sales.

Kellogg's Promotion Redbox Codes

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , , , ,

Let's talk promotions. Those who are advanced deal seekers follow product promotions religiously. Whether it be a promotion on the back of a cereal box or a promotion involving the manufacturer directly, promotions are profitable. I realized that I have not been tracking the promotions as closely as I should but I am making changes add so will the blog. I am going to put more emphasis on promotions like the gift card promotions at Target and deals like the current Kelloggs promotion.

We discussed Target yesterday but today I want to discuss the HOT new Kelloggs promotion! Kelloggs is offering a $10 Rebate for purchasing 10 select Kelloggs products. They are also offering a $70 coupon code from Dell! This is an amazing deal. Over the weekend I purchased 23 boxes of cereal from Albertsons for 99cents and less. Needless to say, my deal is done! There is still time for those of you who want to get in on this deal. The Albertson's ad does not end until Tuesday night. If Albertsons is not your favorite place, then get in now on the Target deal I posted yesterday. You can get a box of cereal for $1.88 and if you are like me and still had some $1 off coupons, then you only pay $.88 a box!

How to Use a Coupon

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , , ,

If you guys are following TRochelle on Twitter then you know that there are a lot of companies actively hiring people to work from home. If not, its not hard. Look in the column on your right and find out what TRochelle is doing right now!

To help celebrate our Savvy Savings Side, I am giving a mini 101 on couponing. Lets begin. I went to the drugstore today to get some meds for my son and on the way out I noticed some ladies having a garage sale. At the garage sale she had brownie mix, Garnier Fructis, glucose monitors, the list went on and on. I just HAD to ask if she was a couponer. Well she told me she never leaves home without her binder! Turns out, she is a stockpiler like myself!

I said all this to say that I want you guys to see how she and I get the great deals. Let's take a random ad for example. I am not sure what stores are in your area but I live near a Kroger, Tom Thumb, Albertsons, Target, Walmart and a few other smaller chains.

Now that we have established what's near me, you should establish whats near you. Find out what stores you frequent and what they have on sale. This is easy. Just grab the store ad. This is the beginning of matching up coupons.

I am going to take something from my Albertsons and show you an example.

Kraft Barbecue Sauce $.99

If you have never done couponing then you might not have your own coupon so I will show you how to try this out without having to go and find a coupon in the paper.

There is a peelie on the Kraft Barbecue Sauce. A peelie is a peel off sticker on the item you want to purchase. This particular peelie says $.35 off. At my Albertsons they will triple any coupons up to $.39 and double any coupon up to $.50. This means our $.35 coupon just went from $.35 to $1.05 making our barbecue sauce free and we made 6 extra cents come off our grocery bill!

This is a good deal and we live for deals like this but they aren't always this great. That is why I keep binders full of coupons. I have mine separated into one binder for food and one for domestics. Inside each binder its separated by dividers. I have dividers for bread, meat, dairy, drinks, etc. It sounds like a lot of work but I bought really great binders over at the Work At Home Mafia and they came with the dividers and baseball card sleeves to hold the coupons. Now I can just flip to the designated area and grab the coupon on want when I see things on sale or on clearance. It makes matching up much easier.
I will post pictures if anyone is interested.

Let's match up one more coupon just for fun. This one will not be a freebie but will show you more about saving.
Kraft Salad Dressing is on sale for $1.69 at Kroger. There is a coupon for $1.50 off this item. You pay 19 cents for your salad dressing! How is that for savings. Just imagine how all those couponers are laughing at you when you pay full price. Think about that the next time you get in line and groan behind a couponer!

I apologize for my recent absence, but guys I am going to have an awesome picture for your when I am done shopping. I still have yet to spend $5 but I will and then I will post a picture!

I know it seems so mean but all my Frugal Folks members are going to be so proud of me when I am done. Speaking of proud, I wanted to share an awesome coupon podcast that I missed on Monday. Thank goodness Kim has a recording so we can listen later. She is truly a savings mentor for me. I think I will keep her around a little longer lol. Make sure you listen to all of her money saving tips because she even tells you how to get $75 worth of Old Navy items for absolutely FREE!

If you really listened to the podcast then I have a reward for you. I will give out one free _____. If you want to know what the freebie is then you will have to guess. Post a comment on either my blog or in the Deals and Coupons Section of the Work at Home Mafia and tell me which offer you think I will share. I will give you a hint: Kim mentioned this offer in her podcast. If you guess right then you are entered to win. If you guess wrong, keep guessing. (As an example, if you guessed that I am giving away a Porsche but I am really giving away a cup of coffee then you are not entered to win the prize. If you guessed a cup of coffee then you and every other person who guessed a cup of coffee will be in the running to win a cup of coffee.) There will only be one winner so listen now! I am counting on my Frugal Folks to win. This is only one of many prizes to come but please feel free to enter as many comments as you like, there is no limit on entries!

I did not forget, here are your work at home leads:

More SEO Tips and Work at Home Jobs

Posted by: TRochelle in , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Making your website more search engine friendly can be done several ways. Keywords are very valuable (as I have stated before) and should be used in the title as well as in your blog and the site's URL. Lets say your blog is gonna be about life in Texas. Your url should have something to do with a keyword that you will use often in your blog. http://www.TalkTexas.com (just an example not meant to be a real site) This would make a wonderful URL because you WILL use the word Texas often. "Ice Storm Chills Texas Heat" (title) Discuss in the body of your blog, the ice storm and of course Texas and make ice storm and Texas keywords. This is a good use of keywords. You do not want to overuse your keywords but this will allow you to get good use of them. Next, have a user friendly blog. Avoid having a blog that is very busy and congested. This is a turnoff for readers. Nice clean simplicity and a natural look is a appealing.

Try and avoid the cute little graphics if at all possible (I know how you feel ....who doesn't like the little care bear gifs but avoid anyway).
Make sure your links work. You want credible links because the links are a reflection of your site. Do not give your viewers any reason to doubt your credibility. Also, make sure that you are able to present nice clean links that makes sense. "Read more about the ice storm at The Weather Channel" You want the hyperlink on the words ice storm and not on Weather Channel. You are bringing attention to YOUR content not necessarily the Weather Channel's website. Now you want to submit your blog link to directories and search engines. Click here for a list of sites.

You also want to link to as many blogs as you possibly can. The best way to do this is to find highly ranked blogs (that interest you of course ....yes this is a moral moment) and post comments to their blogs that in turn link back to your blog. They do this because when you comment you enter your blog url in the URL box. Last but not least, blog and blog frequently. Stay on topic and try not to fluctuate from topic. Also, DO NOT change your domain. You will loose a lot of traffic that way.

Now, Its time for what we are all searching for......WORK at HOME LEADS:
