Attention Bloggers, your day has arrived! Its official, the FTC is watching you! For some reason, Bloggers are not reporting their income and freebies for product reviews. This can give the reader the wrong impression.
Effective December 1st, Bloggers must divulge all connections to advertisers. Some companies have created their OWN blogs and are leading consumers to believe they are objective voices when they have an underlying agenda. Those days are over.
Another group being hard pressed are celebrities that endorse products. Celebrities must now reveal their connections with advertisers when endorsing a product on a blog, social network, or television talk show.
A fine of $11,000 will be assessed for those who choose not to comply with the rules. Unfortunately, the FTC will not be adding new staff to regulate this rule so the advertisers will be the main target for a while. Keep in mind that you can easily be reported to the FTC so its best to stay in sync with the law.
Writing THE Actual Product Review
Posted by: TRochelle in bloggers, free, hiring, product reviews, writingToday's Tip is a continuation on Writing Product Reviews. I have learned, from our segments on blogging, its easier for people who are searching for a particular topic to find it in one spot. Before you know it, we will have a small pamphlet growing. The goal is to provide enough information to help bloggers and website owners begin earning cash and products by doing product reviews.
When beginning to write the actual product reviews, you want to start by properly introducing the product. You need to provide the reader with the name, a brief description, and then a direct lead in the purpose of the product. For instance, you want to say that a voice recording digital clock is appealing because it allows you to record your voice or download popular wakeup calls online.
Detail the purpose of this product for your readers in a manner that would catch the readers attention. You want to use lots of adjectives and tons of verbs. Follow this information with the product's claim. In reference to our wonderful alarm clock, you would say that the manufacturer claims that this alarm clock will wake you better than any other alarm clock (of course you would make that statement lively).
Once you have given the readers the intention of the product. Detail your experience with this product. Not all product reviews should be positive. Readers want honest down to earth reviews. They do not want you to sugar coat nail, just so you can get more reviews. They truly want blatant honesty. If you are being paid to do this review, then it is a MUST that you reveal that you are being paid to write this review. It does not mean that you are dishonest, you are just being upfront and honest with readers. Let the readers know how well and how terrible the product worked. Let them know whether or not they lived up to their claims.
If you are slightly torn on the product, feel free to list all of your likes and dislikes in regards to the product. Readers will appreciate the details. Its important to know exactly why you did not like a product and why you loved it. We have to remember that what you love someone else may hate, therefore details are key. DO NOT be afraid to list the pros and cons.
Now it is time to get down to the real knitty gritty! You have to tell readers how to find their own product. Tell them whether or not it can be purchased online, maybe there is a free shipping offer, coupon code, coupon, or a discount you would like to share. You also want to notify them of the price you paid if you paid something or what they should expect to pay. You can also provide a nice link to the product and it does not hurt to have a link that might give you some kind of monetary compensation!
Oh yes and guess "Who's Hiring!"

Monetize Your Blog and Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in advertorial writer, blog talk live, bloggers, moderator, monetize blog, sponsored posts, sponsored reviewsI always share tips on the best way to get a job working at home, how to market your blog, how to blog and generate natural traffic, etc. Today I am going to help you monetize your blog by sponsored posts.
Sponsored posts are a bit more subtle than an all out advertisement. With sponsored posts, you can pick and choose what products you want to discuss. This helps you avoid feeling forced to promote a product you do not agree. It also helps to pick products or issues that peak the interest of you, as a blogger, and your readers as well.
There are several sites that will allow you to do such a thing:
http://smorty.com/
http://www.sponsoredreviews.com/bloggers.asp
http://www.blogsvertise.com/
http://www.reviewme.com/bloggers.php
http://www.payu2blog.com/
Please feel free to ad to the list. Bloggers will love this for their websites. What a way to market!

Marketing Your Site and Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in bloggers, blogs, bookkeeper, content editor, copywriter, customer service, leapforce, list builder, marketing, pharmacist, smarththinking, tutor, web editor, websitesAs you guys all know, I (like many of you) have a blog. I am thinking of going forward with some serious marketing to get my name out. It got me to thinking about merchandising again. We touched on marketing when we discussed some good colors for marketing your website or brand. This time I want to discuss other ways to market your website or blog!
One way I was thinking of marketing my own blog was through the use of t-shirts, mousepads (send those to work with loved ones), cups, etc. This will get your name out and give your current followers a way to market for you and it won't cause you anything but some promotional items. This is a great way to get others to advertise for you for free!
If you are creative, you can have your logo placed on all kinds of promotional gear with catchy sayings. Imagine a t-shirt with a catch saying on it and in the corner of the back, your website or your logo. Its something people would not mind wearing and your information is not too intrusive so they would wear it anywhere.
Having your guests pay to view certain sections of your site is also a wonderful way to monetize your blog or website. For instance, let's say you have something that people will really want to know. Give them a preview of it and charge them to get more!
Donations are always a great way to make money on your site. If you love a site then its only natural to want to support them. People who believe in paying it forward will gladly support your cause.
Another way to market is to write a book. If people love what you have to say in your blog or website, they might want to see it in writing for those moments when they cannot get to a computer. This is a good method for a person who gives valuable information that might be great for the masses. You can self-publish through a company called Lulu. Who knows, you might be a great author and you don't even know it!
You could also get a sponsor! Imagine writing about something that you picked from a list and naturally writing about it, once you have written about it and inserted the necessary links, you get paid! Now imagine no more. These are called sponsored posts. Sponsored posts can bring in a nice amount of extra income.
I know what you are thinking, links would be useful. If that is your thought then maybe I might be able to market after all. I have just drawn you in and made you want to tune in tomorrow for more elaboration of some of these topics!
****Let me know if it worked!****
Meanwhile, get to applying!!!

Quarterly Taxes and Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in apple, bloggers, Convergys, estimated taxes, ge capital, quarterly taxes, taxes, tea time, work at home, writerWelcome everyone, its "Tea Time"! Many of the newer work at home individuals are not bothered by today being the dreaded APRIL 15th but some of us vets have waited until the absolute last second. I, for one, am not one of those people. I try and balance myself out to where I do not owe at the end of the year but its starting to look like the best way to balance my taxes is by making estimated tax payments to cover the next year's tax liability.
That sounds technical but believe me, sounding that way is as technical as it gets. When you are self employed or you are considered an independent contractor it is important that you estimate both your income tax as well as your self employment tax. To do this, divide your income tax (Line 43 on Form 1040) by your adjusted gross income (Line 73 on Form 1040). Your result will be your average tax rate. Add your average tax rate to the standard self-employment tax rate of 15.3%. To configure your estimated taxes, multiply the percentage by your quarterly net profit.
To find out if you are actually liable for taxes, look at your total tax (found on Form 1040, Line 62) and subtract that amount from your total withholding (found on Form 1040, Line 63). The total is your total unpaid tax liability.
This amount is best paid monthly, but if you prefer to pay quarterly, divide that total by four to see how much you should pay quarterly. Should you choose to pay monthly, divide that total by twelve.
Monthly is much better because the payment system will allow recurring payments. If you have a payment due, you can make payments online via the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System. Should you decide to mail your payments instead, use a Form 1040-ES.

Being a writer at heart, imagine my delight when I saw a ton of writing jobs available for those who want to work at home. I figured I would share my tip on submitting writing submissions.
When submitting a story for submission, its important to format properly. Following submission guidelines is one thing, but there are a few tips you should follow to make sure you are on the right path.
Cover letters are important. Its highly important to write a cover letter for your submission detailing a biographical history or a brief synopsis of the story you are submitting.
Publishers do not want the feeling that you are a machine that can only follow directions. You want to make sure your submission has life.
In the top left margin, enter your name, address, phone number, and email address as a header on each page.
In the top right margin, enter your word count. This lets the publisher know that you were conscientious of the guidelines set forth and your word count.
Use a spreadsheet to detail all of your submissions. Excel is a fantastic tool. List the name of the story, list the date submitted, and catalog the responses when you get them. Another option for those who do not have Excel, is GOOGLE spreadsheets.
I hope this helps when submitting submissions, now . . . . . . get to applying!

House Party and Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in bloggers, Internet Brands, rotel, the house party, translators, velveeta, work at home mafia, writerWe have all heard of Mary Kay parties, Avon parties, and Southern Living parties , but have you heard of The House Party? If you are anything like me you haven't.
The House Party is a website that lets you sign up for parties that are sponsored by a leading brand. The parties focus on things like new product, hit TV show, or worthy cause. It gives consumers the the ability to experience these items with friends.
Once you sign up on the website, you will receive email announcements linking to the online application. These emails are only sent when a new party is being launched. If an event catches your eye, fill out the application to be a host. They will review your application and respond upon completion. SPACES ARE LIMITED, not everyone will be chosen for every event they apply for but keep trying.
If you are chosen, you will get an email telling you step by step how to set up your party site. You will be told how to send email invitations to your guests, manage your RSVP’s, upload photos and videos, and how to join the national event party blog. There is also an area that teaches you how to gain access to great party resources.
Did I mention that its all free? A good friend of mine got a party kit that included Velveeta, Rotel tomatoes, and some of the nicest Velveeta containers when she had her House Party. Free cheese was enough for me so I am waiting to get in on the party too!

I have been out shopping and getting all my coupon stuff together. I am also working on a list of podcast stuff to talk about for future segments and a brilliant new logo. Unfortunately, I had to drop a few projects here and there as well as complete a few. Now I should be on track. To help show my dedication and that I missed you all, here are a few great leads to keep you busy until tomorrow. Before you begin searching, lets talk about how to recognize our positive attributes to convey in a cover letter.
Let's talk about how to recognize positive attributes to convey in a cover letter. It sounds quite technical but we all have a positive attribute. We just need to know how to convey the message to the employer. The best place to convey this message is in a cover letter.
How? That is easy. I will give you some examples of your hidden attributes.
A person who has to schedule many events (kid's sport's practices and events etc.) would be a good scheduler or coordinator. You would need to be confident enough to put that information in your cover letter. You could put that you were extremely organized and possess excellent coordinating and scheduling skills. Its true. Our activities outside of the workforce are equally as relevant as our activities performed in the workforce. If you have volunteered, the tasks completed during volunteer work is resume worthy as well as cover letter worthy. Never leave experiences out of a cover letter.
If you worked in the fast food industry, then you have done customer service. Albeit face to face, working in fast food is still customer service or customer relations. You will also want to note your ability to do ten key. Your keystrokes may not be tops but the fact that you can do ten-key just adds to your ability to brag.
Have you ever taught Sunday school? Well maybe you should think about what you did when you were teaching. You have taught a group of people and that number of people is important. Equally important is the time you spend teaching your own children. This kind of experience could get you a tutoring job working from home.
Never discount life experience. Life experience is key when attempting to find work. Knowing what you have done creates a path for you will do in the future. Just like bad work experience can follow you, so can the good stuff. Never leave off important life experience. You may not type 75wpm but you can type so put that your cover letter. Let the employer know that you may work at home but you work well with others and you are a team player. Inform them of how excellent a communicator you are and how you convey messages well. Employers love an employee or contractor that can communicate on multiple levels.

Conficker Virus and Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in bloggers, cloud 10, Conficker, content writer, editor, Neilsen, staples, symantec, virusI wanted to take tonight to warn everyone about a virus that is actually scheduled to crawl the web looking for vulnerable systems to attack. The name of this virus is the Conficker Virus.
We must make sure that we are doing everything we can to protect ourselves from this virus. Conficker blocks infected PCs from accessing the antivirus vendors' and Microsoft's web sites. Those unfortunate enough to experience the Conficker won't get automatic updates and can't download the Conficker removal tools that vendors like Microsoft have developed.
Those who do not get regular updates on their computers are vulnerable to this virus. Those with versions of Microsoft that are not legitimate or pirated version are very susceptible to the Conficker virus because they do NOT get regular updates of Microsoft and more than likely do not have the updated patches to tackle this virus. Luckily there are sites looking to fight this virus head on and are providing tools to help you. Symantec is one of them and the tool can be found here
If you find that your computer is infected, have a friend download the tool and email it to you. Questionable sites will not keep you safe. This virus is tricky and can attack anywhere. If your computer is blocked from accessing certain security sites, then you may be infected.

Using Paypal and Daily Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in bloggers, content editor, copy paste, copywriter, data entry, ethical hacker, keywords, Paypal, podcast, reservationist, sewing, today, work at homeAre you guys ready for another Podcast? I am ready so you have to be ready. Between now and tomorrow there will be a new Podcast. Don't forget to send in show suggestions so I can make sure you are listening to things you like, aside from my lovely voice of course. If you missed yesterday's tip then you missed a good tip for the novice work at home individual. Yesterday's Tip of the Day was about sending an invoice via Paypal. If you do not have a Paypal account yet, get one. You will find that there are a lot of jobs out there that pay via Paypal. Now, here is how to send an invoice via Paypal:
- Click Request Money
- Just below the Request Money tab you will notice an option that says Create An Invoice
- You will now see a box that tells you to Select a Template.
- If this is your first time, you will be creating a New Invoice
- Enter all the necessary information. This will take seconds. If you are selling something and you want to add tax and shipping then that is an option, if you are just requesting money for services rendered then you will ignore that portion.
- Click Continue, verify that your information is correct and Submit!
You will receive a receipt upon completion. Now just sit and wait on your money!

Marketing 101 and Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in bloggers, content writer, copy editor, marketing, real estate scheduler, scorer, spherion, start a business, tech support, work at homeWhat colors work for your business? If you want your customers to feel like they are in a clean sterile environment and you want them to remain calm, white is the color for you. For serious, bold, authoritative, dramatic effects, you will want to use black (it has always worked for me lol). Gold is equally classy and suggests wealth. I do not suggest overdoing it because excessive amounts of gold can be a little overbearing and arrogant. Blue can be a tricky color. Although darker shades of blue are bold and strong colors that let a consumer know you know what you are doing and you are experienced and prosperous, lighter shades can be seen as clean and refreshing but too much can imply weakness. Colors like gray and silver are very conservative colors that imply that you are focused and goal oriented as well as goal driven. You believe in traditional methods. Speaking of traditional, green is the color of money and usually represents wealth, but it also can calm a consumer as well as represent jealousy (green with envy get it get it). Orange can excite the consumer and make them feel that they can afford whatever you are selling even though its somewhat pricey. Accompany this with some pink and your sells could increase rapidly. Pink represents innocence and a sense of wellness. Dark purple has always been a sign of royalty and wealth. Light purple on the other hand is much like pink and its romantic and alluring. Brown is a trustworthy color and makes people feel that you are solid and trustworthy. Finally red and yellow are next. Red makes the consumer anxious, hungry, passionate, and broke. Never use red when discussing money because it symbolizes debt. Yellow increases your metabolism and catches the eye. Always use yellow in small quantities because large amounts can be irritating.
Well you have the complete rundown on marketing with colors. Do you agree, can you see this being true, are you one of the many who were not tested on these marketing techniques? Please let us know!

The Intro and More Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in a full cup, blog talk live, bloggers, content writer, copy editor, copywriter, coupons refund cents, leads, short story writer, tutor, work at home, work at home mafiaIt has been a nice week this week. I got a shout out from the Mafia, I got a gang of coupons from my coupon fairy, found a new coupon buddy, got my Refund Cents Magazine and got to see my FREE ad for my blog, and started my podcast. I have done an intro show and talk about easy. BlogTalkLive is the bomb! It was as easy as talking on the phone. Maybe that's because I was talking on the phone. Either way, I had a lot of fun talking to the masses that I did not tell that I was going to do a podcast. I guess I will share some of my good fortune and go ahead and share my podcast. I know right, I am just too kind.
Believe it or not, there are actually people who do not know who T.Rochelle is and what this blog is all about. Its our duty to let them know that its..

Chilis, Buzz Agent, and Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in bloggers, buzz agent, chilis, content writer, copy editor, guiltless menu, rosetta stoneSince I am a Buzz Agent they sent enough coupons for me and 4 other friends. This coupon gets us something from the new Chili's Guiltless Menu. I will admit that I try to get healthy but um not so much so. I really do try but then I look on my shoulder and there sits a wonderful stick of butter. Well I decided I will knock the butter off my shoulder and go for it. I wanted to see what all the healthy folks were talking about.
I took my husband and two friends. The Guiltless Menu is still building itself up, but when I went I had the grilled chicken sandwich. I think it needs a little bit of honey mustard. I am going through butter withdrawal so what do I know. My husband had the honey mustard salmon. OMG if I hear about the perfectly cooked salmon and its flaky juicy texture and how it was cooked to perfection.....one more time.... my husband may be sleeping with the fishes! I love when my husband enjoys his food but he keeps going on and on. It did not help that our friends had the salmon and the carne asada steak. You can guess what my good friend felt about the salmon (drool drool drool). The report on the carne asada steak was great as well. Its so tender its not dry and boy would this be great with some garlic mashed potatoes. Yes we were all tempted to get guilty but after our meals we were all a bit full. No one asked for anything else. The food was great and I even kept an extra coupon so I can reward another friend with a trip out!
