I have been recouping from the mega sales over the weekend so my apologies for not posting. I just knew I needed to gather as much stuff as I could before I showed you some of my savings photos. I am serious about being frugal. I figure the best way to teach awareness is to lead by example. I am going to show you all how to live life frugally. I will also give you chances to enjoy the fruits of my frugality. I will be giving away free prizes as our journey continues.


Before I get too into our journey, lets talk about working at home for a moment. I always tell you that there are jobs out there but now I want to tell you how to search on your own. Message boards are always a good start with any job search but a lot of the work needs to be done by you. If you find a company that you have deemed questionable, Google it. Google is your friend. It will help you find all the information on a job you can possibly find. I will give you an example:

WESTatHome is the name of our questionable company. The site looks very professional but lets keep looking. Search Google for WESTatHome. Now change the search to West at Home scam, still good? Perfect! Do not stop there, search their website for a hiring section. If they are hiring for the same job on their website then you know you have a legit company and West is a legit company.

Now try this with envelope stuffing or rebate processing. Its not pretty. It is also not legitimate work and can land you in jail with a felony on your record.

I got a response from one new job I applied for and unfortunately, I did not get the job. I did, however, get the kindest response in the world. It just encouraged me to keep trying. I have to continue since, like an idiot, I announced my resolution would be to write a book! I wonder if no one ever sees the book, if it still counts?

Maybe I should shift my focus? I could take pictures of everything I can cook(like the yummy cake above) and give them to people who made the resolution to lose weight. Once they break the resolution, maybe they will buy stuff from me. What? I am getting desperate here!

Times are hard and so is the ability to put your hands on money. I watch these snotty rich kids on television spending a MORTGAGE on their wardrobe and I sit and think...... I wish they would go broke. I know its evil, but its honest. Is it really evil that I want to see Paris Hilton destitute? She did not work for her money, I can be mean to her. I could see if she was out doing a lot of good and she actually saved her money and was a frugal person, but she is not.

Okay T, its time to stop hating on Paris and get your piece of the cake (no not pie, cake is bigger). I am going to keep trying to go and get that giant slice of cake but I still want to help you all get yours as well so.......

Sometimes when searching for jobs to work from home, you have to look in some really familiar places. For instance, over at Virtual Vocations I posted a job for Huffington Post that I found on Craigslist.org. That job could have been found easier if I had just visited Huffington Post directly. You should check websites periodically and see who is hiring because you never really know when someone might post a job. Look what I found just by revisiting Huffington Post......

All this got me to thinking about how many companies hire but don't typically post their jobs frequently. As a job hunter you should not stop at applying only for companies who are currently hiring. You never know when someone will need help and a lot of times neither do they, so I say apply everywhere all the time!

Initially I was not going to talk about working at home today. I was actually going to go off on John McCain or possibly tell you how to make my Enchiladas but then I ran up on some hot mess. There was this website, HOT MESS!!

I should have kicked off my blog telling you guys that there are a ton of scams out there and to never pay for work. I could not believe the way these people attempted to take money from innocent people looking for work. I know times are bad for everyone but I highly suggest taking people's money. You never pay for a job outside your home so please don't attempt to pay for one to work inside your home. There are plenty of legitimate jobs out there, there is no need to pay someone money you don't have to get your hopes up.

When you work at home, you are not going to get rich quick. Its a job not a life preserver so don't think that you will make $2k a day. Its not realistic and it won't happen unless you find 12 people in one day to give you all their money like you would be doing if you attempted to do this. So if you ever have a question about a company, just ask. Please and Thank You!

As promised yesterday, I am delivering some work at home leads. Before I do, let me suggest you do what you would do anytime you start a new venture, get support. You want to join some key work at home message boards. I am starting one if you are interested. Its pretty new so there are not a lot of members but you can truly ask me anything. If you are interested in a nice variety of work at home sites then you might want to check out:
1. Virtual Vocations - Its a very personal site and the people are very nice. The owner sells a list of work at home leads that will be delivered to your email everyday but that is not necessary for membership. This is a cool place for new people because they don't snap at simple questions like some message boards.

2. Work at Home Mom - Truth be told, the ladies here are not all that nice. This place is best for looking for jobs and moving on. Do not get caught up in message board drama. These ladies are great at finding scams and great jobs, they could just use a lesson on tact. Its free so check it everyday.

3. Work at Home Mafia - This is a pretty new message board as well but these ladies have their stuff together. They have a nice crew of ladies that find jobs for you to check out and they keep an upbeat attitude.

4. Work Place Like Home - Another good place to find leads but you will notice most leads just repeat themselves. If you can get one good message board then you are good to go. The folks here can be a bit snotty sometimes but that's because just like wahm ,they have been at it for a very long time and they have little to no patience for novice questions.
