Being a writer at heart, imagine my delight when I saw a ton of writing jobs available for those who want to work at home. I figured I would share my tip on submitting writing submissions.
When submitting a story for submission, its important to format properly. Following submission guidelines is one thing, but there are a few tips you should follow to make sure you are on the right path.
Cover letters are important. Its highly important to write a cover letter for your submission detailing a biographical history or a brief synopsis of the story you are submitting.
Publishers do not want the feeling that you are a machine that can only follow directions. You want to make sure your submission has life.
In the top left margin, enter your name, address, phone number, and email address as a header on each page.
In the top right margin, enter your word count. This lets the publisher know that you were conscientious of the guidelines set forth and your word count.
Use a spreadsheet to detail all of your submissions. Excel is a fantastic tool. List the name of the story, list the date submitted, and catalog the responses when you get them. Another option for those who do not have Excel, is GOOGLE spreadsheets.
I hope this helps when submitting submissions, now . . . . . . get to applying!

Using Paypal and Daily Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in bloggers, content editor, copy paste, copywriter, data entry, ethical hacker, keywords, Paypal, podcast, reservationist, sewing, today, work at homeAre you guys ready for another Podcast? I am ready so you have to be ready. Between now and tomorrow there will be a new Podcast. Don't forget to send in show suggestions so I can make sure you are listening to things you like, aside from my lovely voice of course. If you missed yesterday's tip then you missed a good tip for the novice work at home individual. Yesterday's Tip of the Day was about sending an invoice via Paypal. If you do not have a Paypal account yet, get one. You will find that there are a lot of jobs out there that pay via Paypal. Now, here is how to send an invoice via Paypal:
- Click Request Money
- Just below the Request Money tab you will notice an option that says Create An Invoice
- You will now see a box that tells you to Select a Template.
- If this is your first time, you will be creating a New Invoice
- Enter all the necessary information. This will take seconds. If you are selling something and you want to add tax and shipping then that is an option, if you are just requesting money for services rendered then you will ignore that portion.
- Click Continue, verify that your information is correct and Submit!
You will receive a receipt upon completion. Now just sit and wait on your money!

When I say the leads section, I am referring to the leads I post here in the NEW LEADS section. There are all kinds of jobs there but I intentionally withheld this one so that I could share it in the Tips.

Frugal Folks Coupon Central and Work at Home Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in content writer, coordinator, coupon club, coupons, data entry, document coder, illustrator, leapforce, quest diagnostics, staples
I am starting a coupon clipping, money saving club called "The Frugal Folks". This is a simple group of money savers that help each other out with specials from the newspaper and online coupons. This is an introduction from the VV forum:
"I am back on my coupon kick. . . . to stay! I am still considered a novice in many areas, but I have learned a lot along the way. With that being said, I am clearing out the old coupons and starting a new binder. The pros say this is best so I am going for it. I am also thinking very hard about investing in a grocery list. I want to save as much as I can so I am going to just focus on organization and monitoring the ads. Would any of you like to join the club with me? I say club but it does not have to be seen that way, I just want a few "frugal folks" so I don't feel so alone!Work At Home Leads
We could help each other find deals and post them here. This will help us catch every deal we can. We can compare coupons also. Some people sell them on Ebay but instead of selling, we could trade off site."

These are just a few of the many lies they use to scam those who work at home. Its a million if not billion dollar industry. There is money in scams but there is also jail time. I'm trying to get the word out more and more about working at home. With companies like Microsoft having major layoffs, its imperative that we keep more irons in the fire. Companies do not have a lot loyalty to their employees and its best that you try and get as many side jobs as possible. Remember the rule ......Never Pay to Work!
Eat the Cake T.Rochelle!
Posted by: TRochelle in cake, career, content review, cook book, cooking, customer service, data entry, legit jobs, pie, remote work, resolutions, tax preparer, wah, work at home, work from home, writer
I got a response from one new job I applied for and unfortunately, I did not get the job. I did, however, get the kindest response in the world. It just encouraged me to keep trying. I have to continue since, like an idiot, I announced my resolution would be to write a book! I wonder if no one ever sees the book, if it still counts?
Maybe I should shift my focus? I could take pictures of everything I can cook(like the yummy cake above) and give them to people who made the resolution to lose weight. Once they break the resolution, maybe they will buy stuff from me. What? I am getting desperate here!
Times are hard and so is the ability to put your hands on money. I watch these snotty rich kids on television spending a MORTGAGE on their wardrobe and I sit and think...... I wish they would go broke. I know its evil, but its honest. Is it really evil that I want to see Paris Hilton destitute? She did not work for her money, I can be mean to her. I could see if she was out doing a lot of good and she actually saved her money and was a frugal person, but she is not.
Okay T, its time to stop hating on Paris and get your piece of the cake (no not pie, cake is bigger). I am going to keep trying to go and get that giant slice of cake but I still want to help you all get yours as well so.......

Keep In Mind
Posted by: TRochelle in customer service, data entry, help wanted, leads, legit jobs, teaching, wah, work at home, work from homeSometimes when searching for jobs to work from home, you have to look in some really familiar places. For instance, over at Virtual Vocations I posted a job for Huffington Post that I found on Craigslist.org. That job could have been found easier if I had just visited Huffington Post directly. You should check websites periodically and see who is hiring because you never really know when someone might post a job. Look what I found just by revisiting Huffington Post......
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/p/jobs-at-huffingtonpostcom.html
Then I decided it was time to visit Kaplan and Score again and found this...
Faculty Position
Teach
Teach
and then I went over to 1800Flowers and found this
Temp Customer Service
All this got me to thinking about how many companies hire but don't typically post their jobs frequently. As a job hunter you should not stop at applying only for companies who are currently hiring. You never know when someone will need help and a lot of times neither do they, so I say apply everywhere all the time!
Here are a few to start with but if you want more tips like this you might want to check out my Tips Section at Virtual Vocations!

Initially I was not going to talk about working at home today. I was actually going to go off on John McCain or possibly tell you how to make my Enchiladas but then I ran up on some hot mess. There was this website, HOT MESS!!
I should have kicked off my blog telling you guys that there are a ton of scams out there and to never pay for work. I could not believe the way these people attempted to take money from innocent people looking for work. I know times are bad for everyone but I highly suggest taking people's money. You never pay for a job outside your home so please don't attempt to pay for one to work inside your home. There are plenty of legitimate jobs out there, there is no need to pay someone money you don't have to get your hopes up.
When you work at home, you are not going to get rich quick. Its a job not a life preserver so don't think that you will make $2k a day. Its not realistic and it won't happen unless you find 12 people in one day to give you all their money like you would be doing if you attempted to do this. So if you ever have a question about a company, just ask. Please and Thank You!
Lists and Leads
Posted by: TRochelle in blogging, customer service, data entry, leads, legit jobs, telecommute, transcription, work at homeAs promised yesterday, I am delivering some work at home leads. Before I do, let me suggest you do what you would do anytime you start a new venture, get support. You want to join some key work at home message boards. I am starting one if you are interested. Its pretty new so there are not a lot of members but you can truly ask me anything. If you are interested in a nice variety of work at home sites then you might want to check out:
1. Virtual Vocations - Its a very personal site and the people are very nice. The owner sells a list of work at home leads that will be delivered to your email everyday but that is not necessary for membership. This is a cool place for new people because they don't snap at simple questions like some message boards.
2. Work at Home Mom - Truth be told, the ladies here are not all that nice. This place is best for looking for jobs and moving on. Do not get caught up in message board drama. These ladies are great at finding scams and great jobs, they could just use a lesson on tact. Its free so check it everyday.
3. Work at Home Mafia - This is a pretty new message board as well but these ladies have their stuff together. They have a nice crew of ladies that find jobs for you to check out and they keep an upbeat attitude.
4. Work Place Like Home - Another good place to find leads but you will notice most leads just repeat themselves. If you can get one good message board then you are good to go. The folks here can be a bit snotty sometimes but that's because just like wahm ,they have been at it for a very long time and they have little to no patience for novice questions.
These are your top 4 heavy hitters when you are looking for work at home support. There is also always contacting me. Now I want to suggest a few things I have run into recently:

Bookmark these two sites because they are not hiring now but they do hire from home.

The list I give will not be this long every single day but I will be pretty consistent. I found most of these jobs from experience, genuine jobs, and the message boards above. I basically check all the same hotspots over and over until I see a flame.
Hey Its T.Rochelle
Posted by: TRochelle in cooking, customer service, data entry, leads, legit jobs, transcription, work at homeWith that being said, let me tell you about my T.Rochellisms. I use terms like E-lationship. That's what we have right now. We have an E-lationship, because its online and I don't mind answering your questions. Our E-lationship can either consist of us talking about what is for dinner, working at home, starting your own blog, dealing with kids, movies, or plain relationship chit chat. I am pretty versatile in my E-lationships and yes I accept gifts on our E-nniversary.
We can also break up and its called amicable E-parture. Just try and avoid the speech.....
Its not me its you...we were doomed from the start...you were attracted to thought of being with me not necessarily the E-Lady that I am.
Yes its that sweet southern charm. I look forward to talking to you and reading your questions. I am an open book so ask away and if its too personal, you will know.
